Spring/Summer Events – Mark your calendars for the following dates:
- For the Whole Family:
- Home Groups – Home group registration is open and groups are in full swing! These groups run through the week of May 17th. Click here to register for a Home Group.
- Mother’s Day Breakfast: Next Sunday, May 10th the men will be cooking breakfast to celebrate the mothers in our church. Breakfast will begin at 9am and childcare will be provided for children coming with their dad to help cook.
- Child Dedication: We will be having a child dedication on May 31st as part of a Sunday morning service. Please reach out to the office for more details and to register.
- Mid-Week Serving Opportunities:
- Meal Bag Ministry – We will continue to distribute bags on Thursdays from 3-6pm. We are currently serving over thirty families every week!
- Women’s Ministry Events:
- Sunday, May 31st (3-5pm) – Women’s Gathering. Weather permitting we will be meeting at Brianna’s farm which is about 15min into Avery County (Plumtree, NC). This will be a very casual event with yard games and snacks. Kids are welcome to join! The property is along the river so feel free to bring extra clothes if you want to jump in!
- Wednesday, June 17th – The women’s Summer Bible Study will begin on June 17th and will take place each Wednesday evening through the beginning of August.
- September 12th – Grateful Girl Gathering in Spruce Pine! Mark your calendar and be on the lookout for the announcement when ticket sales open up as they go fast! More details about the event can be found at this link.
- Youth Ministry:
- Youth Group: Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 at the church. Snacks will be provided. The last day of Youth Group before a summer break will be May 13th.
- Summer Camp (July 27th-August 1st) – This opportunity is open to rising 3rd-12th graders. The cost is $450/person but please reach out to the church if cost is an issue. Limited spaces are available so please reach out to the office to confirm availability.

Teaching & Scripture Overview: This Sunday, Colton Burse taught from Proverbs 1:8-19 in our series in Proverbs. Next week Pastor James Byrd will continue the series, teaching from Proverbs 1:20–33.
Opportunities to Serve: The Grove has many opportunities for our members and regular attenders to “plug in” and serve. Examples include helping with setup and cleaning after church of the hospitality coffee bar, setting up communion in the sanctuary, reading the announcements at the end of the service, serving in Kids’ Ministry (must be a covenant member with a clear background check), being a part of the worship team or the audio/video team, setting up and tearing down for special events, etc. Please let Brianna (office@thegrovesp.com) know if you would like more information.
