Teaching & Scripture Overview: This Sunday, Pastor James Byrd taught from Proverbs 4:1-19 in our series in Proverbs. Next Sunday, Pastor James Byrd will be teaching from Proverbs 4:20-27.
Summer Events – Mark your calendars for the following dates:
- For the Whole Family:
- Baseball Game: On Friday, June 19th The Grove will be going back to see an Asheville Tourists minor league baseball game. There will be fireworks at the park after the game. Tickets are free, but registration (by June 11th) is required for an accurate headcount. Please register here!
- Mid-Week Serving Opportunities:
- Meal Bag Ministry – This Thursday from 3-6 we will be having one more distribution time before a short summer break. We look forward to picking back up with this ministry in August!
- Men’s Ministry Events:
- Wednesday, June 17th – The men’s Summer Bible Study will begin on June 17th and will take place each Wednesday evening through the beginning of August. Childcare will be provided.
- Women’s Ministry Events:
- Wednesday, June 17th – The women’s Summer Bible Study will begin on June 17th and will take place each Wednesday evening through the beginning of August. Register here!
- September 12th – Grateful Girl Gathering in Spruce Pine! Mark your calendar and be on the lookout for the announcement when ticket sales open up as they go fast! More details about the event can be found at this link.
- Youth Ministry:
- Youth Group: Weekly meetings have taken a break for the summer.
- Summer Camp (July 27th-August 1st) – Registration is currently full but please still reach out to be placed on a waiting list. This opportunity is open to rising 3rd-12th graders. The cost is $450/person but please reach out to the church if cost is an issue.
Opportunities to Serve: The Grove has many opportunities for our members and regular attenders to “plug in” and serve. Examples include helping with setup and cleaning after church of the hospitality coffee bar, setting up communion in the sanctuary, reading the announcements at the end of the service, serving in Kids’ Ministry (must be a covenant member with a clear background check), being a part of the worship team or the audio/video team, setting up and tearing down for special events, etc. Please let Brianna (office@thegrovesp.com) know if you would like more information.
